World Class Fly Fishing Trout Streams
If this fly-fishing destination isn’t on your radar, it should be. The Lindner Ranches are home to 10.5 miles of private river—expertly restored and teeming with an abundance of quality trout. Our fishing program is based around fly-fishing three distinct walk and wade private systems: Rio Blanco River, The East Fork of the Piedra and the Weminuche Creek. Typically anglers are picked up between 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. and return to the cabins between 4 p.m. – 5 p.m., and when fishing the home river, anglers will return to the cabins for lunch. Due to the exclusive private party nature of our operation, the schedule can easily be adjusted to meet the needs of our guests.
Limited number of guided day trips
Lindner Ranches has opened their pristine private waters for a limited number of guided day trips during the high season. From Rainbows in free-stone plunge pools to gigantic browns in wide meandering meadows we can offer a diverse and unparalleled fishing experience. Those looking for the ultimate angling experience can book multiple day trips. Fish the first day at El Rancho Pinoso and the next day fishing the Weminuche Creek or Piedra River.
Colorado State Fishing license is the customers responsibility. Space and availability is very limited and will fill quickly. Catch and release only.
Day Trip Booking Policy
(updated 8-9-2023)
During the months of June 1st to October 1st, Lindner Ranches prioritizes private guided fishing for our lodging guests only. Day Fishing is available only if there are no conflicts with in-house guest bookings. Effective immediately, we will no longer be able to confirm a day trip reservation until two weeks prior to your requested fishing dates. We will happily take your day trip reservation outside of the 2 week confirmation and add you to our waiting list. We will notify you 2 weeks prior to your reservation to guarantee that booking date. Due to our remote location, we do not offer ½ day trips. All terminal tackle along with a shore lunch is included.

The Rio Blanco at El Rancho Pinoso
The Rio Blanco is the home water and centerpiece of El Rancho Pinoso. Two miles of its water has been fully restored with numerous deep pools and easy wading. The river is easily crossed in most tailouts and is dominated by rainbow trout; many of which are in the 16- to 21-inch class with larger fish present.
The Weminuche Creek at The Weminuche valley Ranch
The Weminuche is a handsome, fully restored, meandering meadow system with a full seven miles of private water. The creek runs through the Weminuche Valley Ranch with exceptional hopper/dry fly structure and boasts good populations of both brown trout and rainbow trout in the 16- to 21-inch class.
the East Fork of the Piedra River at the Notch Ranch
The East Fork of the Piedra runs through the Notch Ranch, offering over 2 miles of private water. It is a fully restored freestone and large boulder river holding 12-16 inch Browns. The Piedra is a guest favorite in an awe-inspiring setting that never disappoints.
Stillwaters | Lakes and Ponds
All The Lindner Ranch properties have between one and three private ponds that are home to large trout in excess of 20+ inches. These little gems provide a great insurance policy for times when weather might disrupt the river flows and turn things off. The ponds are always a great way to keep guests fishing and catching, regardless of the rivers conditions.
